What do we want to achieve?

Our overarching ideal is clear: as Port of Rotterdam, we would like to offer a warm welcome to seafarers. The following objectives contribute to this:

• The fair, efficient and effective distribution of the available financial resources for seafarer welfare.
• Promoting seafarer welfare in Rotterdam.
• Promoting cooperation between Rotterdam missions/volunteer organizations for seafarers.

The Committee aims to achieve these objectives by:

• Providing financial support to initiatives that benefit the welfare of seafarers.
• Offering an integrated supportsystem to Rotterdam welfare initiatives.
• Providing a one-stop shop for requests for financial contributions for seafarer welfare.
• Consulting with organizations and seafarers about local priorities/needs.
• Ensuring stability for longterm projects and programmes.
• Through this approach, promoting the development of new or other welfare initiatives.
